She is very knowledgeable about the body and is always improving her knowledge and skills which she then applies during our sessions so that I get noticeable improvements in less time.
She is very experienced in analyzing movements and how my body might be compensating. She addresses the area of weakness and so allows my body to move bettter and without pain.
Through my recent pregnancy, Cheryl had helped me with my Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction such that the pain did not worsen and I could stay active unlike my previous 2 pregnancies before I worked with her. After 12 sessions with Cheryl, I figure it’s timely to write a review. I got to know about Cheryl’s work through word-of-mouth, and it was also my first time hearing “clinical Pilates”.
I have been to several Pilates studios and am not new to 1-on-1 sessions, and was on a teacher training program at one point in time.
What sets Cheryl apart from mass market studios is really her attention to details, her vast knowledge of body mechanics, and not placing undue focus on showmanship.
Although my initial goal was to heal my diastasis recti (which I didn’t achieve with a specialist women physio), I have progressed far beyond that in this time.
I have greater awareness of my body, less aches, improved flexibility and balance.

Cheryl is a real professional who starts every session checking in on my wellbeing. When I first started with Cheryl, I was nursing a lingering ache from a knee injury. She was very detailed in ascertaining the location and degree of pain. Cheryl has helped me immensely with decreasing my pain in only 6 sessions! I have slipped disc and initially I was very afraid to try Pilates but Cheryl carefully curated the exercises to my needs and helped me safely do the exercises. Completed 10 sessions with Cheryl and I’m really happy with her work! I’m newly post-partum and looking to jump back on the fitness bandwagon but with caution due to old injuries. Cheryl is able to expertly prescribe appropriate exercises (including home exercise) to improve function whilst being constantly mindful of pain / strain – all with a smile and good cheer. It’s a really clean and well equipped private home studio which is such a game changer (I’ve been to public studios and even having private classes there isn’t the same). Bonus perk of free parking right at her doorstep since this is a home studio. I also find it well priced (if you get a package) and you definitely get your money’s worth compared to private classes at public studios, given her attentiveness and the number of types of equipment available. All in all highly recommended!

I’m relatively new to Cheryl but have already felt and noticed a good difference in my posture and footing from my workout sessions with her. Cheryl is sincere, friendly and takes Pilates seriously. To Cheryl, Pilates is a craft and her passion is evident with every workout. I really enjoy my weekly Pilates sessions with Cheryl. Cheryl has been a great and motivating personal instructor who is able to balance what I am able to do, yet pushing me further each time to what I can do. Pilates is suitable and works for a person with previous injuries like me. I never imagined I could regain the strength, balance and posture, but Pilates training with Cheryl set me on this path again. Thank you Cheryl!

Knowledgeable and very clean studio with a variety of reformers.
Posture misalignments and lower spinal curvature tightness were uncovered. These itself were well worth the price. Corrective exercises were then prescribed, and lastly mat exercises were done together with a summary list for takeaways so that I am able to continue practising myself. Very fitting to the motto “heal thyself”.

I’ve been doing Pilates off and on for 10-15 years. I found Cheryl and her studio through a Google search and she has been helping me for the last 2 months on a number of endemic challenges I’ve had for many years – including lack of flexibility and balance, lower back issues, uneven hips, shoulders. Her approach is THE best I’ve found so far. I can see tangible and visible improvements in so many areas. Its been really motivating for me to see my body strengthening and gaining flexibility. There are of course, a lot of Pilates options in Singapore but there are three things which standout for me.
Pilates Geek – She’s very knowledgeable about Pilates (and fitness as a whole) and her passion, zeal and outright geekiness for Pilates is very obvious. This is the super useful as she can analyse issues more deeply and understand how they are connected to each other.

1:1 attention and the complete tailoring of the routine – this is the secret sauce of what she does. As you are the only student in her 1 person studio, you receive 120% attention. There are no preconceived, standardised regimens. She continuously refines and adjusts the routine, your body’s positions based on feedback – from her observation and what you tell her. This makes the routines intense, highly effective and you don’t waste time on anything that doesn’t work for you. Since she works 1:1 – the context of what you are working on with her is always retained and every session feeds into the next very efficiently. I’ve been for lots of 1:1 classes at big studios and it’s just not the same.
Her home studio is awesome. Fitted out with a professional grade reformer and a number of accessories. I love that it’s in a home and am not driving into a CBD building or a shophouse and hunting for parking for 15 mins.

Cheryl is a very competent, encouraging and thorough instructor. My body is gaining strength, flexibility and mobility with sore and injury prone areas minimized each session. My respect for her skills, professionalism keeps growing as she strives to keep learning and help her clients achieve best results.

Every week I am motivated to start my day of stretches and toning – all because of Cheryl. Cheryl is patiently helping me to address my concerns such as leg numbness, back pain and tight muscles. Cheryl is very attentive and professional and speaks Chinese very well. We had a great time in 15 classes. This is a family Pilates venue that is very convenient to drive to. Cheryl corrected every movement of mine very carefully. Sometimes, with just a slight change, I would feel completely different muscle movements. If you are new to Pilates, I think it is important to find a careful teacher. After every class, you will feel like your body seems to have gotten better!
